5 Common Ingredients You Won’t Find in Soil to Soul Product
Because Sometimes What We Leave Out Matters Just as Much as What We Put In
When you look at a skincare label, it can sometimes feel like you're reading a chemistry textbook.
Long ingredient lists. Names you can't pronounce. Fragrances that smell wonderful but leave you wondering what's actually in them.
At Soil to Soul Naturals, we believe skincare can be simpler.
Our philosophy has always been to use thoughtfully selected ingredients and create products with a purpose. We don't believe you need a complicated formula to care for your skin.
Here are five ingredients you won't find in our products—and why we've chosen to leave them out.
1. Parabens
Parabens are preservatives that have been used in cosmetics and personal-care products for decades to help prevent microbial growth and extend shelf life.
You won't find parabens in Soil to Soul Naturals.
We prefer to keep our formulas as simple as possible and carefully select ingredients based on what we believe belongs in a naturally focused skincare routine.
2. Artificial Fragrance
Have you ever seen "fragrance" listed on a skincare label and wondered exactly what that means?
The word fragrance can represent a mixture of fragrance ingredients rather than one single ingredient. For someone looking for a simpler skincare routine, that lack of specificity can be frustrating.
At Soil to Soul, we choose essential oils and naturally derived aromatic ingredients when they are appropriate for our formulas.
Our goal isn't to make products smell overpowering.
It's to create a gentle, enjoyable experience using ingredients chosen with intention.
3. Mineral Oil
Mineral oil is a highly refined petroleum-derived ingredient commonly used as an occlusive moisturizer in cosmetics.
While mineral oil can be an effective moisturizer and is considered safe for cosmetic use, it simply isn't part of our ingredient philosophy.
Instead, our Whipped Tallow Moisturizer is built around grass-fed tallow and nourishing oils such as jojoba and castor oil.
We want our customers to recognize the ingredients they're putting on their skin.
4. Silicones
Ingredients such as dimethicone are commonly used in skincare to create a smooth, silky feeling and help form a protective layer over the skin.
They're not necessarily "bad" ingredients—but they're not ingredients you'll find in our formulas.
We take a different approach.
Our products are designed around oils, tallow, hydrosols, glycerin, and other carefully selected ingredients that fit our simple, nature-inspired philosophy.
5. Artificial Colors
Your moisturizer doesn't need to be a particular color to do its job.
At Soil to Soul Naturals, we don't add artificial colors simply to make a product look more appealing.
Instead, we embrace the natural appearance of our ingredients.
Sometimes natural is not perfectly white.
Sometimes it isn't perfectly uniform.
And that's okay.
It's part of knowing that you're using a handcrafted product made in small batches.
